Writing Prompts

“Almost anyone …

“Almost anyone can write; only writers know how to rewrite. It is this ability alone that turns the amateur into the professional.”
— William C. Knott, The Craft of Fiction

Here’s a quick writing prompt that I’ve done before. It’s interesting and fun. Observe someone. It can be anyone. While your on the train, walking to work, sitting in a cafe, etc.. Take detailed notes about what the person looks like, their mannerisms, voice if you heard them speaking and anything else you may notice. Afterwards write a story using those notes and see what you come up with. Its interesting to see where the imagination goes with something like this. It can also be any genre you choose. If you want to submit your work to my page just let me know with a comment or email. At the end of the day or Tuesday I will post my own story from this assignment. Good Luck and Have fun with it.
